HYDROCARBONS & GAS

Advancing energy security and system balance

Hydrocarbons, especially natural gas and LNG, are vital to Vietnam's fast-growing power market. As demand rises across gas and LNG, they boost energy security, system flexibility, and supply reliability.

Domestic gas production remains essential, while growing LNG imports diversify supply and support demand. New LNG terminals, pipelines and storage strengthen system resilience and grid stability.

As coal capacity is phased down, gas and LNG are positioned as critical additional fuels. Vietnam is also exploring longer-term decarbonisation options, including carbon capture and hydrogen-ready infrastructure, creating new value chain opportunities.
